High demand on Patanjali's Coronil Kit - COVID-19 Immunity Booster

Yes, there is an uptick demand for Patanjali's Coronil kit. In an Interview that happened last month, Patanjali’s co-founder Acharya Balkrishna claimed that they have found the cure for the novel coronavirus.

Patanjali co-founder Acharya Balkrishna said” We conducted a clinical case study on many positive patients and we’ve got 100% favorable results. After taking our medicine COVID patients recovered in 5-14 fays then tested negative. So, we can say the cure for COVID is possible through Ayurveda. We’re performing controlled clinical trials only. In the next 4-5 days, evidence& data will be released by us.”

Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev’s Ayurvedic company Patanjali announced three medicines in the Ayurvedic Corona Kit-the immunity-boosting medicine is now available across the country from now on.

While Addressing a press conference in Haridwar, Ramdev Baba said that the medicine combo – Coronil and Swasari will be available in the market across the nation. Ayush Ministry has used the term “COVID management” for our medicine and not ‘COVID cure’. We are making it available across the nation from Rajasthan to Maharashtra” Swami Ramdev said.

Baba Ramdev also claims that there are no side effects of the Corona medicines he is launching.

They have tested a total number of 100 coronavirus positive patients for the clinical trial, out of which 95 were studied, 1 patient was lost on the follow-up details and 4 patients withdrew consent between the study, claims Patanjali.

In a recent news report, he claimed that “Patanjali Ayurved is witnessing demand of around 10 lakh packs daily for its controversial COVID-19 immunity booster medicine Coronil

Patanjali is struggling to meet the demand as it can supply only one lakh packs, Ramdev said on Wednesday.

“Today we have demand of 10 lakh packs of Coronil daily and we can supply only one lakh,” he claimed.

Emphasizing that Patanjali Ayurved has priced it only at Rs 500, said “ Had we put a higher price of even Rs.5000, in this COVID-19 times, We could have easily earned up to Rs 5,000 crore from this. But we have not done so.

Earlier In June, Baba Ramdev claimed that their product Coronil can cure COVID-19 patients. But the AYUSH Ministry immediately put restrictions on Patanjali overselling it.

Also, the Union Ministry confirmed that Patanjali can sell the products only as an immunity booster but not as a cure for COVID-19.

The Madras High Court had restrained Patanjali from using Coronil trademark till July 30, due to a petition provided by a Chennai based company.

Patanjali's press note says that "the trial, conducted after the necessary approvals, showed 100% recovery of patients within seven days."

The Uttarakhand department was among the agencies which had questioned Patanjali’s claim to have developed a drug to cure COVID-19. It said the company had only been given a license to manufacture an immunity booster.

The Next Big Wave! Bubonic Plague in China in 2020

Amid COVID-19 crisis, another life threatening NEWS emerges out from China named “Bubonic Plague”. Bubonic plague one of the types of plague which is caused by a bacterium called “Yersinia pestis.”Bubonic plague is also called "Black Death". Generally, there are three types of plague,
                    1. Bubonic Plague
                    2.Septicemic Plague
                    3. Pneumonic Plague
Bubonic Plague will take 1-7 days after exposure to the bacteria and develop flu-like symptoms. According to Chinese official media, a city in northern China on Sunday sounded an alert for a suspected “Bubonic Plague.”
On July 1st state-run agency Xinhua reported that two suspected cases of Bubonic page reported in Khovd province in Western Mangolia. A 27-year-old resident and his brother who is 17 years old had eaten the Marmot Meat. The 146 people who came into contact with them have been now isolated.
How people will get affected by this plague?
If people directly contact the infected tissues or fluids while handling the animal which is affected by the plague or died because of the plague. Also, the inhalation of infected respiratory droplets. This disease mainly spread to humans from fleas who have bitten the infected animals like mice, rats, rabbits, squirrels.
According to the sources, this disease killed about 12 million in India when it happened in September 1896 which originated in China in 1855. The disease spread over trading ships came to the port cities Calcutta, Punjab. If we look back the history, It killed an estimated 50mn people in Europe during the 14th century. Over 3,200 people were infected worldwide between 2000 and 2015 resulting in 584 deaths.
Symptoms:
Few of the symptoms of this disease which includes the below,
  • High Fever
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Chills
  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle aches
Untreated Bubonic Plague can kill an adult in less than 24 hours.
Treating the Plague:
We should thank science, with the advancement in science, and with the introduction of the antibiotics, Most of the infections can be treated or it can be prevented.
The World Health Organization has categorized this as a re-emerging disease and according to their data 1000-2000 people contract the plague every year. So far, there is no effective medicine found to eradicate this disease.
Bruce Y.Lee, professor of Health Policy and Management at the City university of New York wrote, “While the outbreaks of the plague may occur every now and then, it’s very unlikely that this will become an epidemic. The availability of effective treatment has been a game-changer. Before the age of antibiotics, the plague was a big deal, a very big deal. But this isn’t the 1300’s or even the 1800’s anymore. It’s 2020.”
What do you think? Does Government should focus more on health care systems to prevent humans from such deadly diseases in future? Do the people should be more aware on consuming semi-boiled or raw meat?

Facts That Nobody Told You About Locust Attack In India.

LOCUS ATTACK INDIA - RAJASTHAN
Locust Attack India didn’t heard about this for decades. A swarm of dessert Locusts infested Jaipur on this Monday (25/05/2020). This may head towards Delhi and the city has been already warned regarding the swarm. The Locust Attack is currently active is Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Uttar Pradesh other than Rajasthan.

Reason for Current Locust Swarming:
Desert Locusts are found in parts of Africa and Asia. The reason for their rapid multiplication is the unexpected Cyclones Mekunu on May 2018 and Luban on Oct 2018 which gave rise to ephemeral lakes in the desert areas of Africa. The wet environment is the perfect place for the locust to breed and as it is on the deserts it is more favourable for the locusts for rapid breeding. Atleast three generations of locusts might be formed on the deserts.

During the summer 2019, the locusts swarming started and movement of Locusts swarming was on two directions towards the east Asia and central Africa. To control the Locusts swarming various operations have been carried out in African countries and Soudi Arabia, Yeman and Oman but for Yemen and Somalia due to Cyclone Storm Pawan on Dec 2019 the control operations were not possible and in the wet condition locusts continues to breed.
In Africa the effected countries are Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, parts of Somalia and Sudan. The swarming is now spreading Asian countries like Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and North West part of India.
Locusts Habitet
Common name: Desert Locust
Scientific Name: Schistocerca gregaria
Locusts are grasshopper like species with big back legs which help them to jump. During dry season solitary Locusts are forced together in the patchy areas of land with remaining vegetation. When rains return it creates prefect environment for the locusts to socialize and rapid multiplication. In wet condition they turn from their solitary lifestyle to group lifestyle or the gregarisation phase. During this phase their brain gets larger, its endurance power increase and even it changes colour. A new born locust which is called as nymph takes 24 to 95 days to become adult.

Egg --------------------> Nonflying nymph ----------------> Flying Adult

(10-65 days) (24-95 days) (2.5-5 months)

During swarming, locusts can move and are capable of covering large distance minimum 81 miles in a day and within 10 days it can cover area of 3100 miles approximately. Each locust can eat upto its own weight each day and as they are herbivores they eat all the plants and mostly target the agricultural fields.
Control of Locust Swarming
Controlling the Locust swarming can be done effectively during the first phase of the life cycle of locust. Collecting data regarding the weather, ecological conditions and Locust numbers, making forecasts of the timing and location of breeding, because the egg takes 10 to 65 days to hatch which is the best time to control.
Controlling Locust swarms is a very tedious task. Locust swarms contain 40 to 80 million locusts and may spread over a range of 40 km radius. One technique of controlling is spraying insecticides and pesticides using drones or helicopters. This can cause some problems to the environment. Another method is creating a barrier i.e. tracking the movement and creating a barrier by applying strong insecticides and pesticides to the crops there by creating a wall against the Locust Swarms, when they approach the area they eat the plants and they will die.
If the Locust Swarm is small then it can considerably work but larger swarms which are wide spread it is not preferable because the movement cannot be predicted and large area has to be sprayed with insecticide and pesticides.

Burning tyres, creating smoke, making noise, disturbing the Locust swarming using low altitude planes and catching them in nets are effective in creating an exclusion zone. These measures can temporarily control the spread but cannot withhold the long time.
